Week 86- "Petri Heil! (Good Fishing)"

Refeueling the tanks today. This week killed me. Getting like 5 hrs of sleep is Bush League.

Had some good lessons with our investigators. All of which were Arabic this week so that was cool. These people come from crazy backgrounds.

James was baptized in Köln on Saturday! His fam showed up and now his brother is being taught. His aunt from Hong Kong flew in for the baptism too. Jīngrén 惊人🎎🎏

Church was good. Had a way crazy experience I can't really share over a weekly email but ya.
The sun was shining and we did a bunch of contacting by the river right next to our house that night. Nobody wanting it, so I see this dude with fishing poles and I just had to talk to him. We had a blast talking about fishing. He's from Kazakhstan and just loves the tug on the rod. Said he will come to church if the fishing sucks next Sunday haha. Also found a wayyy dope German girl that night that we are meeting with in a few days.

Elder Haywood is super sick so we went on some splits, those were interesting. Always weird when an elder who has been out a year hasn't read PMG yet....
Had dinner at a 97 year old members house. She was so nice. Ate some classic Abend Brot with her, her daughter, and grandson.

Yesterday I commented on a grandmas glasses in the bus because the sun was so bright and we had a good convo. She was so "beeindruckt" about our missionary work and that the true church is restored. She was so giddy taking that Book of Mormon. Praying she feels the power of the words when she reads.

The sun is finally out a little bit. Yesterday was the first day I didn't have to wear a coat or jacket in 4 months so that was blessed. Looks like the undercover days with a jacket are over.

This weekend is Karneval in Germany. They go way too hard for these next 4 days. Pray for me to stay safe, not get kissed, or punch anyone.
Thanks.

Talk to ya in March.💚

Week 85- "Wochenliche Spiegel"

This one is for you Rafi, Jameson and Rosales.
"She say do you love me; I tell her only partly, I only love my bed and my momma, I'm sorry...." -Drake

Alright I'll start with the spiritual stuff this week. So this guy in area book named Shadi (shawwtayyyy) said he is finally back in Koblenz so we taught him at his house. He literally loves the book of Mormon so much and was like "ya elders stopped contacting me but I read every day, I really like alma and I try to get my friends to read with me." Super sick lesson. He taught us some Arabic.

We had interviews with President and it was good, literally have so much fun with that man. Funny thing is, I have been wanting a priesthood blessing for about 3 transfers now but just never asked anyone or got around to it. At the end of our interview he is just like "I feel very strongly that I should offer you a blessing if that's ok" all I can say is the spirit was present in every way.

And if everyone could pray for the German/Chinese boy James in Köln that'd be hype. His baptism is this Saturday. Him and his wife shooting for that eternal family status. Had the opportunity to get to know and teach him before I left. Elder Rosales up there taking care of business as usual.

So p-day ends last week. I get on a bus show my card and then WHAP, these busses have these swinging pedals and the dude in front of me just let's it swing and it nails me below the waste, I was dead. Thought i eas gojna puke or pass out. The bus driver was like dang you good? Haha then on the same bus this JW comes up to us and I wasn't having it. Heck of a way to start the week.

Sunday we hit 145mph in a member's  Audi A4 wagon. The autobahn man....

Contacted this girl at a bus stop. Ended up being from Portland Oregon and is the Hot Yoga instructor for all of Koblenz. She wasn't biting on gospel stuff but we have free hot yoga now if we want. Figured if I can call home every p-day now then hot yoga shouldn't be a problem.

Did some "garden work" service, top 3 most dangerous things I've probably ever done. Chopping down huge 50 foot trees right next to 3 houses. The dad has a broken hand could barely hold the chainsaw and so I just took it from him and went at it. That was a crazy day. In no way was that a safe missionary service activity lol

Also got my flight itinerary for coming home. That was a weird feeling

Love ya guys. Keep it real

Yours truly,

Sup, me and Elder Haywood are staying together this transfer so that's sick. Kid is adorable. I knocked on a college door this week and said "alright it's all yours, I ain't saying anything." Of course a cute girl opens and it was just the funniest 5 minutes of my life. He did good. You never know, maybe she will call us with interest sometime? Wish I had a GoPro to record some of these experiences. Too good.

My fave couple had us over and taught us how to make Coconut chicken curry and it was lecker.

I finished the German Book of Mormon this week. I started about 5 months ago to really study it from front to back cover and I finally finished it. I can only testify of its truth and power when we apply the teachings to our lives. Reading it in another language was almost better because of the focus it requires.
That day I finished it, I prayed to be able to share my testimony of it and that a German would actually stop and listen. That day we ended up having a way good discussion with a Catholic Deacon who is responsible for baby baptism (RIP) buttttt..... He was way interested and took a book to read. Prayers answered.

Bunch of other stuff this week happened too but I won't bore ya. Was a good week. Haven't laughed so much in a long time, needed it way bad tbh. These winters here with these people get ya some days. But God is good. Christ's Gospel is Perfect.

I really appreciate the prayers and the emails this week. Y'all r teh homiez
