Week 20- "When the praises go up, the blessings come down" -Chance The Rapper

Never know how to get these things started so let’s just dive in aye?

I thought Utah was cold, but at least Utah is dry. This week was so wet and windy and bitter cold. It’s crazy. Just like the lovely people here. HA PSYCH! Just joshin with ya.  But for real we did some solid work this week no matter the weather.

We hit an hour train ride up to Fulda on Friday only to find out that the guy we were going to meet lived about 5 hours to the north in a city that sounded the same as Fulda but he had a thick accent. So we got to do some contacting in the rain up there. Let’s goooo!

We had a way sick street display in the pouring rain on Saturday and it took your's truly and my comp Elder Bringhurst 20 minutes to set up this plastic table because we just some dumb 20 year old Americans out here. We love our district though and we all hit it hard and got smoked on the streets but it’s all good. Only blessings and good times out here.

On Saturday, we had a sleep over in Nieder-Wรถllstadt with the Elders because stake conference was up there closer to them and we had a way good time hahaha! President and Sister Boyer absolutely killed it in the stake conference and were just spitting fire at the stake about missionary work and how the members should be united with the missionaries. President and his wife are so awesome and their little family is hilarious. Love those people.
We met with some dope investigators on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday night, the Johnsons had us over for thanksgiving and it was incredible. Half German half American family and they made us some bomb duck, pumpkin pie, and all that jazz.

Yesterday, we had a street display here in Hanau and then helped the ward set up for our huge ward Christmas party on Saturday. It should be huge and we have invited so many people to it so we are way excited to see who actually shows up. We got a possibility of 15+ random people showing up to this Shabang so we pumped over here to see what happens! Pray for us.

On a more spiritual side, we have the new Christmas Videos for #LightTheWorld or #DerWeltEinLicht here in Germany and there is a new overall video as well as a video for every day of December to show examples of how we can serve like Christ served. I’d invite all of you to go and watch those and do something for someone else on every day this Christmas season. Me and Elder Bringhurst will be doing it and can only promise blessings to anyone else who puts in an effort. The more we serve others and forget about ourselves is when we more fully understand how and why Jesus served in the way that he did. I love this gospel and the special opportunity to be on a mission during the holidays.
Just out here MISSION TRIPPIN! ๐Ÿšฃ๐Ÿป‍♀️๐ŸŽฃ

SCRIPTS this week:

Matthew 18:3-5
"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children , ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child , the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me."

Alma 7 (straight ๐Ÿ”ฅ chapter)
"Christ will be born of Mary—He will loose the bands of death and bear the sins of His people—Those who repent, are baptized, and keep the commandments will have eternal life—Filthiness cannot inherit the kingdom of God—Humility, faith, hope, and charity are required." (chapter heading)

Week 19- "Happy Thanksgiving?"

Ei Gude wie?

Another week out here on the mission trip. Always a good time.

This week was full of member appointments and less active work it was really fun! On Friday, we got to help clean the church and the Zarza’s. They took us to lunch at Ikea. Hahaha had a steak at Ikea and they had refillable drinks. I couldn’t be any happier! Samuel also got baptized in Wetterau. He is such an awesome man. I was able to help teach him a lesson on a split and he is the coolest, most humble guy ever.

Monday, we had a white day that was full of finding. We had no success but that is alright  Elder Bringhurst and I always have a good time while tracking! We found a house with an indoor swimming pool and a bunch of old Germans were in there swimming. That was freaking awesome.

I don’t have much time to write but it was an awesome week. I love being on the front lines out here in Germany. I love my mission and I love this gospel. I can say with a surety that I know it is true. Read the Book of Mormon every day and your life can only be blessed.
Love you all

Scripts:

Alma 32:41-43
"But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience , looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life.
And because of your diligence and your faith and your patience with the word in nourishing it, that it may take root in you, behold, by and by ye shall pluck the fruit thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and...Then, my brethren, ye shall reap the rewards of your faith, and your diligence, and patience, and long-suffering, waiting for the tree to bring forth fruit unto you. "

Matthew 6:21
"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. "

Matthew 10:39
"He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. "

Matthew 12:33
"Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit . "

Week 18- November 16, 2017

Start of another transfer and I will be staying here in Hanau with Elder Bringhurst for my 4th transfer in Hanau! I am 1/4 of the way done with my mission and time is absolutely flying.

This last week, we did a bunch of findings and little to no success but that is alright! Just hitting the streets hoping someone wants to hear what we have to say. We had two very interesting confrontations with people making fun of us walking into a train station. We had one last night after an appointment so that’s always fun....๐Ÿค— also, we ran into a guy who was cocked and loaded with his bible on him and we had a fun 40 minute lesson/bash session in the freezing cold with him. Peoples' fear of anything but the Bible being true makes me laugh pretty hard.

There was a baptism in Wetterau that we were able to go witness last week and it was way fun! Heinz is half American and half German so he loves when the Elders come around and talk about the US Military and football hahaha!

All of our progressing investigators are gone so we don’t have anyone that is progressing and it has been really frustrating but all is well in Zion. We are just trying to find the elect out here. Daily grind out here in the center of Apostasy.

Winter is defiantly in the air. Walking outside is like walking through frozen water so it’s a good time! Germans go all out with Christmas... holy cow the Weinachsmarkts are pretty freaking cool!

That’s us in Hanau!

Scripts:

1 Peter 3:14
"But and if ye suffer for righteousness ’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; "

1 Peter 4:14
"If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. "

Week 17- November 9, 2017

heyooo.
Sorry I didn't write last week! So much has happened in the past two weeks though!
Two weeks ago, our solid investigator, Kevin, on baptismal date... dropped us. I was on a split and decided that we should go by his house; we got into the building and I went up to his door and knocked on it because I could clearly hear that he was home. He refused to answer and has blocked our phone calls. I was devastated but hopefully he comes back to the church at some point in his life. We also said goodbye to Jaoquim. He will be in Portugal with his mom until February but he is going to be baptized there so we are way stoked for him! Super sad goodbye.

Last week during a finding activity, I contacted the head basketball coach for the Hanau White Wings!! He is so cool. He is from Boston and his grandma was actually baptized Mormon right before she passed away. The Elders there took way good care of her so he loves us. He gave us free tickets to their game so we got permission to drop by for a second and check it out! It was way cool and he appreciated that we came and supported him. We also got some SICK attire: jerseys and all that cool jazz!

I also went to Wetterau this week and got to teach our boy, Samuel, that is going to be baptized this week. We had dinner with a family who is less active and it was one of the funnest, most spiritual nights on my mission so far. They cooked us amazing food and then we shared a little bit about Gordon B. Hinkley and his teachings of being positive about life no matter what happens to us.

Yesterday, we had Elder Sabin come talk to our mission. That man is a BOSS! Every question we asked him, he could back up with scripture and doctrine. Seriously incredible. Some of the cool things he said were: "When we are trying we are succeeding." and "You will never be happier than you are grateful." Let those sink in....... So awesome!!

Sorry I got to go real quick but this week I have been really studying D&C and my patriarchal blessing and having a good and positive outlook on everything. God wants us to be happy. Just like our parents here want their kids to be happy. It is the same thing!! I have truly seen my Savior's love for me this week!!

Some scriptures this week:

D&C 84:88
" And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."

D&C 90:24
"Search diligently , pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good, if ye walk uprightly and remember the covenant wherewith ye have covenanted one with another. "

D&C 6:36
"Look unto me in every thought ; doubt not, fear not. "

D&C 8:2-3
"Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart , by the Holy Ghost , which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart. Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground."
