Week 73- "Sister Missionare sind meine Lieblings"

Sped recap.
Things experienced this week real quick:
- Germans are soooo bad at small talk hahaha
- dude next to me on a train got kicked off because he was doing naughty stuff by himself. #gross
- mom saw me on a train and told her 5-year-old to never talk to weird people with a badge that says, Jesus
- taught a HOMIE from Madagascar. He was loving the Book of Mormon
- the church is true
- Romanians are hilarious
- contacted Köln pro hockey players on the train
- constantly laughing with Rosales
- sis missionaries and I do not get along. Working on #charity this week I promise

Here’s a little more in detail.

1st district meeting with this new district was way different. I miss being around just elders so much let’s just put it that way.

Met this Gangster person grandma and she actually showed up to church Sunday. It was like right before the meeting started so I ran up front from the back to say hi and she kissed both my cheeks. The whole ward saw then I just started laughing and started explaining through the headset what happened (I was translating for like 15 English speakers) after that I even got a big wet kiss from parichehr on the face in the investigator class because I got her gospel library app to work hahaha! Ya boy just getting action from the 50+ Persian crowd out here.

Monday we met with this Dope guy from Spain. Was baptized like 3 years ago there then moved here and had no idea where the church was. He loved Elder Rosales because of... #spanish. Was way cool. Fed us so many Spanish treats and gave me a raw bacon and cheese sandwich. Was yum.

Had a split with Elder Borcuti from Romania. He is a BOOSSSSSSS. Was found in Denmark 2 years ago and baptized. He is 23, the only member of his family. Sold both of his thriving businesses and stopped studying to go on a mission. Was a pro handball player in Romania. Seriously the guy loves the gospel! Instant legend. His trainer is 18and he is 24 it’s the cutest funniest thing. He also raised 12 cats.
I’ll attach a pic.

Love you all. Idk what else to say. Stay tuned next week for more psycho Köln stories.
Also the Christmas markets are up and Köln is lit up.
Go do something for someone else this week. You’ll be happier. This world needs less selfish people. Including myself.

Week 72 - "Gucci Gang"

What a WEEK!
My lady mamma P entered the waters of baptism on a crisp German morning on the day of November 17th, 2018. The sun was shining through the windows, angels were singing on high. Was für ein herrlicher Tag! Such a great experience. She was baptized, then baptized again this time everything went under, she embraced my companion in the after and started crying then we closed the front doors it was amazing. Great day. The next day she received the Holy Ghost and was confirmed a member. This is why missionaries are here man.

Other than that just blasting around getting everything ready for Elder Stacy to go home. The kid is going to be missed. Been with him 24/7 since July 18th. But my new comp Elder Rosales is a boss. From Florida. He has been out here 7 months and my boy Scotty Hughes trained him. We have been having a blast so far. Should be a good Christmas and New Years. He has like a phobia of gay people and I said well Elder you’re in the gay capital of Europe so have fun haha. Nah but we are going to get some dope work done here.

Funny story this week was we gave a man a blessing yesterday and he has all of these photos on the wall that are autographed. And we were like wtf hahaha one is from Versace, I’ll attach a pic. One was of Barack Obama, king of Spain, leader of Iran. This guy just emails everyone asking for pictures and autographs and he gets them. Then we saw one of Heidi Klum and we were like dang how’d you get that? And then he proceeds to tell us she likes like 3 km from where he does. So needless to say me and my comp set a goal to baptized Heidi Klum. Or at least teach her the first lesson hahaha.

Today is thanksgiving and we are partying as a district with our ward mission leader who is American and then the Köln basketball star from Seattle and his wife so it’ll be dope.

I am so grateful for this gospel, for knowing that I am a child of God and Jesus suffered and died for us to pave the way back to Heavenly Father. I’m grateful for my family and my friends. The two biggest blessings God has given me.
S/o to my fam and also the boys around the world 🌍

Week 71- "Afro Soup"

Last week of the transfer and we are just trying to finish it strong.
We had stake conference last week and that was awesome! Parish loved it and then had her baptismal interview. She is so excited about it hahaha. She calls me sometimes and is like “sorry Elder but I’m just not going to make it Saturday” and then she just starts busting up laughing hahahaha ah man she’s funny. Also got to see a ton of old faces and friends from the Solingen ward at the conference.

This week has been pretty basic. A lot of “classic tough missionary work” this week with contacting in the rain and knocking doors. All I can say is Köln is crazy and everyone is so interesting. We experience some crazy stuff at some doorsteps out here. I love it though. We were in the GHETTO on Monday and it was just funny. Just felt like I was in the middle of Istanbul, no longer in Germany. But we found some new peeps.

Tuesday we got a message from a member in Utah telling us to visit her friend in the hospital here. Her friend isn’t a member but had a special neck surgery here and so we went and visited her. She was so awesome and reminded me a lot of my own mom. She even gave us a big hug when we left. It just made me realize how good people are in general, even if they aren’t of our same faith. She has been living in Utah with her little family for 12 years and they are probably better people than most of us church members honestly. Oh well, always cool meeting nice people and of course moms are just superhero’s out here. So hyped on moms hahaha. I have a pic of her attached.

I love it out here and I am trying to enjoy the little things and stay positive. Got is good and is by you, even if it doesn’t always feel like it. Jesus atoned for the sins of the world and his hand is stretched out for us to grab.
Love you all! Pray for Parish and that everything Saturday will go smooth. Next time I email it’ll be a new transfer and have a new comp and be Thanksgiving all at the same time. Change is hard but it’s good.
Love you all!
