Week 21- “The way you invest your love, you invest your life.” -M&S

Yo what a week.

First off, shout out to my boy Dakota and his call to the Calgary, Canada mission 🇨🇦

On Saturday, we had our member wake us up and for our workout time and he drove us to the church and we ran around in the freezing cold, dark, muggy German air and shoved invitations to our Christmas party in mailboxes. Definitely a good mission trip memory. Later that evening, we had the Christmas party. The sisters had 2 investigators there and we were like freak nobody that said they were going to come for us showed up but right as the opening prayer was said, a random guy that got our English pass along card this week walks in and then 5 min later our investigator from Afghanistan rolls in! We were stoked out of our minds. The ward was super welcoming and nice to them and it was just a fun evening.

On Sunday, we were running around all 3rd hour showing the #lighttheworld video in all of the classes. The young men’s leader came up to me after church and was like, "Yo, Rothwell! Who’s lookin' to have a snowball fight?" So we had a snowball fight for about 20 minutes with all of the young men, young men’s leaders and 2 members of the bishopric. Hahaha funniest thing I’ve ever been a part of. Germans grow up passing balls with their feet so it was funny to watch them all throw snowballs.

On Monday, we had some morning service at the local Tafel!
After, I had a split with my boy, Elder Neighbor, in Wetterau and taught some way fun lessons to their investigators! We also met with a family from Syria who just brought us in and fed us a bucket of fruit. Then they told/showed us with pictures of their homes in Syria that got bombed and how two of their daughters died in it. Such a crazy experience to sit and talk to people who have just been through the ringer. I honestly don’t know how people go through life not knowing the plan of salvation and the peace that it brings along with everything else in this perfect gospel we have.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had some fun lessons here in Hanau with our two investigators and then we started our English class on Wednesday night and had a few people show up it was sooo sick! Hopefully that class gets rolling and we are able to get a few investigators from it.

We have a street display on Saturday and the ZL’s and my companion and I set a goal to find 2 people prepared for baptism this week at the display so we are praying for some miracles.

That's pretty much it for the week here in the Hanau Crib!

Find a way to serve someone this week with the #lighttheworld calendar that is up! Elder Bringhurst and I have been loving following that thing every day. Serving others truly does bring joy into your life.

We are heading down to Heidelberg for the Christmas market there!
Hopefully will be able to send some pics later today. We will see what we can make happen.
Love y’all

Machts gut gel!!!

Scripts ‘O da week:

2 Nephi 4:35
"Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine... "

2 Nephi 10:23-24
"Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved."

Alma 37:33-40
"Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest to their souls.
O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.
Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever. "

Matthew 22: 37-39
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart , and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind .
This is the first and great commandment .
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. "
